Look What Some Rain Can Do!

"See!...the rains are over and gone. Flowers appear on the earth; the season of singing has come...." Song of Solomon 2:11-12

This afternoon when I took my sweet Cocoa out, I was awed by my Lantana bush as I walked up to my back porch. It was beautiful!! It was covered with brilliant red blooms, orange blooms, and red with orange blooms!! My first thought was, "Wow! Look what some rain can do!" That drenching rain over the weekend did wonders!

As I looked at the bounty brought forth by the rain, I couldn't help but consider how the "rains" and "storms" of life can also cause us to flourish...if we allow God to work within them. I want to share with you some words that are such a source of comfort and encouragement to me.

"Jesus draw me ever nearer As I labour through the storm. You have called me to this passage, and I'll follow, though I'm worn. May this journey bring a blessing, May I rise on wings of faith; And at the end of my heart's testing, With Your likeness let me wake. Jesus guide me through the tempest; Keep my spirit staid and sure. When the midnight meets the morning, Let me love You even more. Let the treasures of the trial form within me as I go - And at the end of this long passage, Let me leave them at Your throne."

Lord, please help us to allow you to draw us ever nearer to you. Help us to follow and allow your work...even when we're worn. Help us to live and walk in faith. And, Lord, may your likeness and the deepening of our love for you be the blossoms of testimony to your goodness.

Rain - for the thirsty earth, and for the thirsty soul. Life gets pretty dry and dusty sometimes, doesn't it? But God sends refreshing rain!

I hope I'll get the chance to meet you, soon, Kristi. In Nov. maybe at the Conference.

I'm praying for your hubby.

Blessings,
Jean
