Running in the Rain

Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us.
Hebrews 12:1 (NIV)

I gazed out the window. The rain waffled between pouring down in perpendicular sheets and diagonal deluges. Chin resting in my palm, the desire to do anything productive seemed to rush with the water to the storm drain.

And then a runner passed.

His devotion and persistence captured me.

I want that.

All too often I get distracted by circumstances, situations, even people that cloud my perspective.

Hindered. Entangled.

And my passion wanes.

But I'm reminded to "...fix [my] eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of [my] faith," to lace up my running shoes and get back in the race.

For Him.

And there's the victory.

Praying for showers of blessing in your life today,

Oh, yes. I'm so easily distracted by my own selfish emotions.

Ceil, Hester, and Meredith, God is surely good!!

Funny, I told my husband as he walked out the door yesterday that I didn't know why I blogged and wasn't really hearing anything from God to post. He had only been gone a few minutes when the runner went by.

Oh girls, He loves us!!

Thank you for your sweet words!

Walking in victory today ...

Delighted to meet you today. I hope you don't mind if I splash around a bit to get to know you. This looks like a refreshing place to dip into some serious goodness.

Also wanted to extend an invite ... to share this post (or another fave) to encourage even more moms. We could use it.
