Monday Meditation~Memorial Day

"Rejoice with those who rejoice; mourn with those who mourn." Romans 12:15 (NIV)

For every soldier that has returned home, we rejoice.

For every one who gave his life for his country, we mourn.

Lord, thank You for all of the men and women who sacrifice to honor and protect our great nation. Thank You for their willingness to be selfless...to leave the comforts of home and family, to fight on behalf of those of us that they don't even know. Lord, please give protection to those still serving. Please give strength, faith, comfort, and hope to their families at home. We thank You for all who have returned home safely. We pray Your blessing on their lives. For those who were able to return home, but carrying physical/emotional/mental scars, Lord we pray for Your ministry to them and their loved ones. And for those who gave their lives, we offer our utmost gratitude. We pray Your help and comfort for their families. Lord, we know that You understand sacrifice. We thank You for Your Son fighting the ultimate battle on our behalf. Thank You for saving us. Thank You for absolute freedom.

Remembering today.

Beautiful prayer, sweet Kristi. I'm especially mindful of the things our soldiers witness during wartime. I can't even imagine it, and those kinds of things can't be easy to have in your head.

May God grant them extraordinary grace to process those things.

Love you!!
